| Things you
should know about me:
The first thing I ever sold in advertising was for Subaru. My ad for
new car franchises in the business opportunities section of the New
York Times got thousands of responses and I thought this business
was going to be easy.
I've spent the last twenty-five years or so proving how wrong I was.
One day towards the end of 1988, I was supervising a staff of 25 at
a suburban Philadelphia agency. The clients were great, so was the
work, but something was missing. I was winning awards left and right,
but I wasn't happy. One day they put a computer on my desk. I started
playing around with it and decided I could build a business with one.
So I bought a Macintosh and quit.
I've worked on all kinds of consumer and business to business brands.
Sold Sealtest Ice Cream, Panasonic Shavers, Uni-ball Pens, Tylenol,
Swanson foods, Xerox business software and many more that I can't
remember. As long as they wanted good work, I enjoyed them all.
I believe that everything is important -- from a TV spot to an envelope
stuffer. The moment you stop caring you should find another career.
I like to work with smart people and when I'm not, I make everyone
around me miserable.
I love good ideas. Even when they're not mine.
I'm happily married to my best friend. I have a daughter who stole
my heart the day she was born and has never given it back. |
